Song Shin-do passed away at the age of 95 in Tokyo on 16th December.
She, originally from Chungcheong-do, was forcibly taken into Japanese military 'comfort station' in China by the Japanese military in 1938,
when she was 16 years old.
Song Shin-do is known for her active legal fight against the Japanese government over the wartime crime.
She was the first and only victim so far living in Japan who has filed a damages suit against the Japanese government,
although her decade-long court battle ended up in a loss at the highest court.
She is the eighth survivor of the horrific ordeal who passed away this year.
There are now only 32 victims remaining who had registered with the Korean government.
