곤지암에서 오신 신민희님이 손뜨개 꽃목걸이를 만들어 

나눔의집의 할머니 흉상 한 분 한 분의 목에 

정성껏 매달아드렸습니다. 

이 활동은 네이버 카페 ‘러블리 삽살개’ 동아리에서 시작되었으며, 

소녀상이 있는 곳 가까이에 거주하는 분들이 

5년 전부터 할머니를 추모하고 기억하기 위해 이어오고 있다고 합니다. 

한국의 토종견 삽살개는 일제강점기에 멸종 위기를 겪었던 한국의 대표적인 강아지입니다. 

'위안부' 피해자 할머니들과 어쩌면 이웃처럼 아픔을 나누는 존재가 될 수 있겠다는 생각이 듭니다. 

아름다운 사람들의 따뜻한 행위로 인해 기림의 날 아침이 더욱 향기로워졌습니다.

"In Observance of the International Memorial Day for Comfort Women"

Shin Min-hee, visiting from Gonjiam, lovingly crafted crocheted flower necklaces and placed them on the busts of each grandmother at Nanum House.

This initiative began with the Naver Cafe club ‘Lovely Sapsalgae’, and for the past five years, people living near comfort women statues across Korea have continued this practice to honor and remember the grandmothers.

The Sapsalgae, a native Korean dog, faced the threat of extinction during the Japanese colonial period. It reminds us that, like these grandmothers, it can symbolically share and reflect a kind of neighboring pain.

Thanks to the warm and beautiful actions of these remarkable people, the morning of the International Memorial Day for Comfort Women became even more fragrant and meaningful.
