미국 백악관 홈페이지 ‘기림비 보존하자’ 란에 청원서 서명하기

6월 10일 기사에 "백악관, 다음주 뉴저지 '위안부 기림비' 입장 밝힐 듯'이란 기사가 떴습니다. 기사 내용에 따르면, 2010년 10월 미국 뉴저지주의 펠리세이즈파크시 시립도서관에 건립된 '일본군 위안부 추모비'에 대해 일본인들이 백악관 홈페이지를 통한 철거 요구 청원 서명 운동을 벌리고 있다는 내용입니다.
추모비의 비문에는 '1930년대부터 1945년 까지 제국주의 일본군에 의해 납치 된 20만 이상의 여성들을 추모하며 참혹한 인권 범죄를 잊어서는 안된다' 고 씌어 있다 합니다
백악관 규정에 따르면 청원 서명 시작 후30일 이내에 25000명 이상이 참여 할 경우 백악관 측은 이에 대한 공식 입장을 밝혀야 한답니다.
청원서의 내용은 다음과 같습니다
Remove the monument and not to support any international harassment related to this issue against the people of Japan.
False accusations regarding the South Korean comfort women issue have disgraced the people of Japan for decades. Over the past few years it has come to light that many of the original charges were false or completely fabricated.
Yet despite this new information, the United States continues to lend credence to the original false charges by memorializing the comfort women in a monument in New Jersey and a street name in New York. Not only is this perpetrating historical untruths, but it also leads unnecessary racial conflict and suffering of people of Japanese ancestry.
We strongly request President Obama to remove the monument and not to support any international harassment related to this issue against the people of Japan.
6월 20일 현재 '한국 위안부 문제에 관한 거짓된 고발이 수 십 년 동안 일본인들을 치욕스럽게 했다"로 시작하는 청원서의 서명인 수는 32,119 명으로 25000명을 훌쩍 넘어 버렸습니다.
지난 6월 13일 일본군 위안부 할머님들이 생활 하시는 경기도 광주시 퇴촌면의 '나눔의 집'에서 김화선 할머니께서 돌아 가셨습니다. 1926년 평양 태생을 16살의 나이에 싱가폴에 끌려 가 일본군 위안부 피해를 당하시고 젊은 시절 모은 돈을 어려운 아이들의 장학금으로 모두 내놓으시고 2008년 11월부터 나눔의 집에서 일본 위안부의 진상을 알리신 분입니다. 이제 '나눔에 집'에 기거 하시는 할머님들도 연로 하셔 한분 한분 세상을 달리 하시고 그분들이 매주 수요일 일본 대사관 앞에서 사죄를 요구하며 벌이는 '수요 집회'의 목소리도 잦아들고 있습니다.
이제는 우리가 역사의 바통을 이어 가야 하는 시점입니다. 이에 6월 12일 백악관 홈페이지에 다음과 같은 청원서를 올렸습니다
Preserve comfort women monument as a symbol of bloody history of Korea during Japanese colonization
During Japanese colonization, approximately 50,000~200,000 Korean women, according to most scholars, have been tricked, kidnapped, and were forced to leave their country to become military sexual slaves by Japan. In many cases, women were lured with promises of work in factories. Only 68 of the women managed to return to Korea.
From 1992 until now, every Wednesday, the comfort women of Korea are holding a demonstration in front of the Japanese embassy for governmental reparations, formal and individual apologies, yet Japan replies with silence, ignorance and distortion of their brutal history.
We strongly urge President Obama not to remove the monument, and let Japan’s crime be the lesson of the history not only to the international society but also to the people of Japanese posterity.

2.청원서 밑의 CREATE AN ACCOUNT 를 클릭합니다.
3.영어로 순서대로 이름(first name). 성(last name). 메일 주소(email address)를 씁니다
우편번호(zip)과 바로 밑의 작은 네모는 체크 하지 않아도 됩니다.
그 밑 커다란 네모 박스 안에 보이는 데로 대문자 ,소문자 ,띄어쓰기 신경 써서 그대로 씁니다.
4.CREATE AN ACCOUNT를 클릭하면 원래의 싸이트가 다시 뜹니다.
5. 위의 싸이트를 그냥 둔 채 메일로 들어가서 30초 정도 기다리면 백악관에서 확인 메일이
옵니다
6.메일 4번째 줄의 주소를 복사하여 맨 위 주소 창에 복사하면 다시 백악관 청원서로 들어
갑니다.
7. Preserve 로 시작하는 청원서 확인하고 밑의 SIGN THIS PETITION 누르면 여러분이 몇
번째 싸인 한 사람인지 서명인의 횟수가 하나 올라간 창이 뜹니다.
